Real Estate Advisor

In August of 1975 I received my real estate licence, and have worked all of my real estate sales career in Victoria. Having worked in about 10 different real estate firms in that time, I find that Century 21 offers the best exposure and services for my clients. It now has the best website in all of Canada, getting more hits than any other real estate site, other than www.realtor.ca – but apparently we are gaining on that one too! I love to travel and see new things and places. It is fascinating to see how other people in the world live. I have been fortunate enough to travel to many places across the Americas. In 1991 I bicycled from Toronto to Victoria, and in 1995 did essentially the reverse, going from Victoria to Halifax. I have canoed down the Yukon River, twice the Nahanni River, and many other lakes and rivers. I have hiked in Denali National Park in Alaska, the Chilkoot Trail, Mt Assiniboine in Alberta, as well as the Inca Trail in Peru. I have worked in about 10 different real estate firms and find that Century 21 offers the best exposure and services. I have been selling real estate in Victoria since 1975, and in my career have been involved with the sale of over 1000 properties. Many of these properties were to first-time homeowners – I always say old age and experience will outdo youth and vigour any day! I have a commercial designation, as well as a licensed Property Manager. On November 25th, 2017 my wife Doreen and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. We have 2 grown sons, who own and operate 2 local tea shops that sell only matcha tea. We are also grandparents to 2 lovely granddaughters that we spoil. I am the 6th of 9 children, born and raised on a farm in Southern Ontario. In 1968 I moved to British Columbia, spending 3 years in Vancouver, 2 years in Prince George, and Victoria ever since. I spent 8 years in the banking industry before becoming a REALTOR®. Although my first name suggests a Scandinavian heritage, there is not a drop of Scandinavian blood in me – instead it is a Scottish heritage. And actually I am a proud 6th generation Canadian living and working in the best place on earth. I volunteer for one of the local Optimist Clubs. I was the president of our local bingo association in which we raised millions of dollars for charities.
